This month,  Sasha has challenged us girls to use a Citrus Colour Palette.

Here is my creation:
I used Flourishes' Life, Love and Lemons Stamp Set, stamping it with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colouring it with Copic Markers.

I guess I wasn't too creative, this time, in the sense that I actually used a citrus image, not just the colour palette but, I chose my papers and just really liked this image with them.

I used the following Copic Marker Collections from Flourishes:

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed your stay.

June Beautiful World Tour!

Hey there, and welcome to Flourishes' June Beautiful World Tour!

My goodness...it's hard to believe that 2013 is almost halfway through!

If you have arrived from Bridget's blog , then you are in the right place.  If not, please head over to the Flourishes Blog to start from the beginning.

One lucky winner is chosen from the comments each month to WIN their choice of Flourishes stamp set.  All you need to do is follow the hop and leave comments along the way.  You do not need to comment on every stop, however, the more you comment on, the bigger your chance of winning!

Well, today, Meredith challenged us girls to create something using neutrals and texture.

Here's what I came up with:
I don't know how well I did with adding lots of texture to my card but, I did keep with the neutral colour scheme.

With Father's Day fast approaching, here in Canada and the US, I decided to make a card for my dad who is an avid fisherman.

I used Flourishes' What a Catch! stamp set which not only has beautiful masculine fishing related images, but, also has some adorable pun-ny sentiments to go with them!

I kept the card pretty simple, using papers from Bo Bunny and adding only a bit of burlap and some twine for texture and embellishment.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed your stop in Vancouver, Canada.

Happy Stamping!

May Beautiful World Tour!

Hello there, and welcome to Flourishes' May Beautiful World Tour.

This month, I am first on the hop so, I won't send you anywhere else.  If this is your first stop, you can simply continue to the next stop on the tour.

One lucky winner is chosen from the comments each month to WIN their choice of Flourishes stamp set.  All you need to do is follow the hop and leave comments along the way.  You do not need to comment on every stop, however, the more you comment on, the bigger your chance of winning!

It's hard to believe that we're already half-way into the year and spring is in full swing!  I hope the sun has been shining as much in your little corner of the world as it has been, here, in Vancouver!

Anyway, this month, the theme is "a picture tells a thousand words".  Kathy has challenged us girls to create a card with an image but, without any sentiment.

So, without further ado, here is what I created this time around:

My grandparents were from the prairies and moved to a double corner lot in North Vancouver, British Columbia when my mom was still a toddler.  My grandfather had always dreamt of having a farm with a creek running through it.  One day, he went out to a small town outside the city to look at a tractor that he was interested in buying.  Well, he not only bought the tractor but, also the farm!  That farm was a wonderland for my brothers and I when we were growing up...with a creek, ponds, natural forest, a barn, and a huge garden....we had MANY adventures there.

I chose to use this image not only because of my fond childhood memories of the countryside, but, also because it is in general a beautiful tranquil image which can easily stand on it's own without using a sentiment.

The main image is from Flourishes' Country Road stamp set and was stamped with Versafine ink in Onyx black.  I love the crisp image I always get when using this ink.  The papers are from October Afternoon.  I wanted a rustic, country feel so, I kept this card simple adding some stitching and embellishing with some rustic twine and a button.

Well, thanks for stopping by.
I hope you enjoyed your stay here.

Easter Wishes

Hey there!
Just popping in to share an Easter card that I made for my mom this past weekend.  I haven't been posting much this past year but, I've been wanting to be more active on my blog so, here I am!

Anyway, here it is:
I used papers from the Simple Stories Vintage Bliss 6x6 paper pad as well as the new Flourishes Easter Wishes stamp set.  I stamped the main image using Memento Tuxedo Black on Flourishes Classic White Cardstock.  I then coloured the image with Copic markers (Y21, Y23, Y26, BG10, BG11, BG13, BG15, BG18, R11, R14, R17, Y13, Y15, Y17, Y19, YG93, YG95, YG97, YG99, W0, W02).  The main image was then cut out using Spellbinders Standard Circles and then matted with a doily.  To finish it all off, I added some pearls from Pizzazz Aplenty - not only around the doily, but, also some tiny ones in the centers of the flowers on my floral patterned paper.

Well, that's it for today...I'm hoping to start participating in challenges, again, and sharing a lot more of my projects, here, on my blog.
Thanks so much for stopping by...I hope you enjoyed your stay!

Happy Stamping!

April Beautiful World Tour

Why hello, there and welcome to your last destination on the hop, this month - Vancouver, Canada where spring is off to an incredible start!  The sun has been shining this past week and it's been very warm...almost tee-shirt weather!

Wow, I truly cannot believe that it's already April!  I hope you had an amazing Easter weekend spent with loved ones.

Anyway...
If you have arrived from Anne-Elise's Blog, then you are in the right place.

This month, Anne-Elise has given us a Childhood Theme to play along with...

Here is my take:
Although, I had so many ideas for this theme, I just HAD to go with my initial idea.  My first thought when I heard about the theme was to use the fun sprinkler image from Flourishes' Sweet Days of Summer stamp set.  Every time I look at that beautiful silhouette, it just takes me back to my childhood as it reminds me of playing in the sprinklers with my two older brothers when I was 5 or 6 years old.

I chose the colours aqua and golden yellow because I really wanted to evoke that feeling of summer warmth, blue skies, water, and a bright shining sun!

Overall, the card is pretty straight forward but, I did some selective inking on the sentiment which came from Flourishes' Hydrangea stamp set.  I did this mainly so that I could fit it on a fishtail flag but, I also wanted to highlight the word "sunshine" by stamping it with yellow ink.  I also added some rhinestones for flair and went over the main image with glossy accents for some shine and a "wet" look.

I took some inspiration from Iwona's Sketchbook Saturday #88 pictured below:

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed your last stop here in sunny Vancouver.
Now head on back to the Flourishes  Blog!

Happy Stamping!

March Beautiful World Tour

Hello everyone!
Well, March has already rolled around and it's that time again...time for another Beautiful World Tour with Flourishes!  Welcome to Vancouver, Canada where we are eagerly anticipating spring!

This month, Sasha has challenged us to each make a beautiful bookmark.

I have always wanted to try making a corner bookmark but, have never gotten around to it so, I used this tutorial by the fabulous Beate Johns of splitcoaststampers.com.  I always love Beate's beautiful work and she has such a talent to make wonderful tutorials.  This one is was NO exception and she made it super simple for me!

My dad is a very avid reader but, also very passionate about fishing...since he reads more than anyone else I know, I knew I had to make my first bookmark for him.  I also thought making a masculine bookmark might be something different from all of the gorgeous bookmarks my teammates have made.

Here is what I created:

I used the Kids Play stamp set from Flourishes, stamping it in dark grey ink.  I cut it out using Spellbinders circles, sponged the image, and matted it with gold glitter paper to add a little flair.  The sentiment, from Tiny Flowers and Tags, was stamped on the tag and attached with a little baker's twine and added a button for embellishment.  Easy peas-y!

Thank you for visiting.  I hope you enjoyed your stop in Vancouver, Canada...your next stop on the tour is...

This month, Iwona has whipped one of her gorgeous sketches for us:

Here is what I created using this fabulous sketch:

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, I decided to create a card for my sweetheart.  I stamped my main image using Flourishes Love Sweet Love stamp set and coloured it in with Copic markers.  I then cut it out using Spellbinders Classic Circles, sponging it with Distress Ink and matting it on a larger Classic Circle which was then layered over a doily.  I added a seam binding bow and a sentiment tag which was stamped in red ink with a sentiment from the Flourishes Love Notes stamp set.  It was also sponged with Distress Ink.  Lastly, I added a large red rhinestone over the centre of the bow and some pearls to finish it all off.

I used the following Copic Marker Collections from Flourishes:

January Beautiful World Tour

Hello everyone!  And welcome to chilly Vancouver, Canada!  I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season!  I can't believe that 2012 has come and gone and now, it is time for the January Beautiful World Tour!

If you have arrived from Iwona's Blog, then you are in the right place.  If not, please head over to the Flourishes Blog to start from the beginning.

This month, Meredith has challenged all of us girls to create a tag.

Here is what I created:
Since it was my dad's 58th birthday yesterday, I decided to make a masculine tag which would work equally well for NYE as it would for his birthday.  I tried to keep it simple and elegant.  I used the Flourishes Moments In Time Stamp Set stamping the clock face in Versafine Black Onyx ink and cut it out using Spellbinders Classic Circles.  I sponged the image with ink, using the die as a stencil before mounting it, with foam tape, on a piece of black cardstock which had been cut-out using the Flourishes Tailor-Made Classic Keyhole Die Set.   I then stamped the sentiment, aslo from Moments In Time, in the same black in and cut it out using the other die from the Tailor-Made Classic Keyhole Die Set also sponging it with ink and using the die as a stencil.  I then doubled up some foam tape and mounted the sentiment on top of the bottom portion of the main image.  To finish it all off, I added a few clear rhinestones and attached the tag using a silver mesh ribbon.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed your stop here in Canada...now, you're off to visit...

December Beautiful World Tour

Hey everyone, it's time for the Flourishes Beautiful World Tour again and this month, I'm the host!

If you have arrived from Anne-Elise's blog, then you are in the right place.  If not, please head over to the Flourishes Blog to start from the beginning.

One lucky winner is chosen from the comments each month to WINtheir choice of Flourishes stamp set.  All you need to do is follow the hop and leave comments along the way.  You do not need to comment on every stop, however, the more you comment on, the bigger your chance of winning!

As winter quickly approaches, here in the Great White North, the ground is starting to frost over and soon, everything will be aglisten with snow and ice.  I chose to challenge the Beautiful World girls to create something that shines like the ice we will soon be seeing...

Here is what I came up with this time:
I used two Flourishes stamp sets: Joy Is In The Air and Warm Winter Wishes.  I coloured the snow globe image using Copic Markers and applied Glossy Accents overtop for a nice shiny glass-like finish!  I also applied glossy accents to the background paper to add some extra shine.  The sentiment tag was cut using the Flourishes Tailor-Made Classic Tags Die Set.  I embellished using chipboard snowflakes which I coloured (one using a white acrylic paint dabber, and the other using a blue Copic Marker) and then applied a transparent glitter using Glossy Accents as a dimensional adhesive.

I used the following Flourishes Copic Marker Sets:

Anyway, I really hope you enjoyed your stop here in Canada!
