DYSU #66 - Friendly Critters (and a Sneak Peek!)

Hello everyone and welcome to another challenge at DYSU!  This week, we would like to see some "Friendly Critters"!

Here is what I came up with:

I used an ADORABLE new stamp set from Paper and Such called Patriot and Friends.  This is actualy a sneak peek as this set will not be released until Monday, April 9th!  Isn't this daschund super CUTE?  I just LOVE the fabulous, punny sentiments that come with this set.  The set has two different dog images as well as two different cat images and 5 sentiments to suit both and cover many different occasions...

I used papers from the MME Miss Caroline Fiddlesticks 6x6 Paper Pad, stitching the background papers together.  I used Spellbinders Labels 9 to frame the main image.  Because the next largest die would create too large of an outline for my liking, I traced around the outside of the die and cut it out by hand to create a smaller mat.  The sentiment was stamped with SU! Classic Ink in Basic Gray and tiny 2mm White Flatback Pearls from Pizzazz Aplenty were added to all of the flower centres on the background paper.  Finally, I added a few more flatback pearls in 3mm and 4mm, some twine from The Twinery in Flax, and a Vintage Button from Papertrey Ink in Spring Moss.

A Spring Challenge at Paper and Such!

Hello everyone!

Welcome to another bi-weekly challenge at Paper and Such!

This time around, we would like to see you create a project with an Easter or Spring theme.


Here's what I came up with:

I used the new Sweet Chickie Digital stamp set from Paper and Such which comes with 3 ADORABLE sentiments and sells for a mere $3!  I coloured it up with Copic Markers (Y21, Y23, Y26, Y32, Y35, Y38, E40, E41, E42, E50, E51, E53, R12, R14, R17, R30, G20, G21, G24, W0, W2) and cut it out using Spellbinders Petite Ovals and sponged it with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Wild Honey.  I then matted it with Spellbinders Labels 10.  The papers are from MME Miss Caroline Howdy Doody 6x6 paper pad.  I stitched the different pieces of paper together using my Janome Sew Mini.  I printed out one of the three sweet sentiments that came with the Sweet Chickie Digital stamp set (don't you just LOVE it?) and cut it out using Spellbinders Ribbon Banners.  Last, I added some 5mm White Flatback Pearls from Pizzazz Aplenty and some bling flourishes from Recollections (Michaels).

CRAZY for Daisies!

Hello everyone and Happy Spring!
Can you believe that Spring is finally here?  
I know I can't!  Time just seems to pass all too quickly these days!


Well, since I'm in a Spring-y mood, I decided to whip up another card using the Daisies set from Paper and Such!  I have to say, I really LOVE this set and each time I've used it, I've been really happy with the outcome.

Well, without further ado, here is my card:

This is a relatively simple card and came together quite quickly.  I couloured the daisies using Copic Markers (Y21, Y23, Y26, YG93, YG95, YG97) and decided to fussy cut the image.  I added some shimmer to the flowers using Smooch Accent Ink in Illuminate and stamped the sentiment on a piece of cardstock, cutting it out with the Flourishes Tailor-made Classic Keyhole die by Spellbinders.  I then sponged it with some Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Pumice Stone, using the die as a stencil.  Some paper from the MME Miss Caroline Dilly Dally 6x6 Paper pad, a doily, a button, and some twine from the Twinery (honeydew) and this card was finished.

A Sketch Challenge at Paper and Such!

Hey everyone!

Welcome to another bi-weekly challenge at Paper and Such!  

This time around, we have a sketch that we'd like to see you use!


Here it is:

Here's what I came up with:

I used the Basketful of Flowers stamp set from Paper and Such stamping it in SU! Basic Gray Classic Ink.  The papers are from the MME Lost & Found Portobello Road 6x6 Paper Pad.  I stamped the sentiment and cut it out using Spellbinders Nested Lacey pennants and stitched it onto the card with some embroidery floss in grey.  I added a seam binding bow and some adhesive pearls from Recollections and I was done!
