December Beautiful World Tour

Hey everyone, it's time for the Flourishes Beautiful World Tour again and this month, I'm the host!

If you have arrived from Anne-Elise's blog, then you are in the right place.  If not, please head over to the Flourishes Blog to start from the beginning.

One lucky winner is chosen from the comments each month to WINtheir choice of Flourishes stamp set.  All you need to do is follow the hop and leave comments along the way.  You do not need to comment on every stop, however, the more you comment on, the bigger your chance of winning!

As winter quickly approaches, here in the Great White North, the ground is starting to frost over and soon, everything will be aglisten with snow and ice.  I chose to challenge the Beautiful World girls to create something that shines like the ice we will soon be seeing...

Here is what I came up with this time:
I used two Flourishes stamp sets: Joy Is In The Air and Warm Winter Wishes.  I coloured the snow globe image using Copic Markers and applied Glossy Accents overtop for a nice shiny glass-like finish!  I also applied glossy accents to the background paper to add some extra shine.  The sentiment tag was cut using the Flourishes Tailor-Made Classic Tags Die Set.  I embellished using chipboard snowflakes which I coloured (one using a white acrylic paint dabber, and the other using a blue Copic Marker) and then applied a transparent glitter using Glossy Accents as a dimensional adhesive.

I used the following Flourishes Copic Marker Sets:

Anyway, I really hope you enjoyed your stop here in Canada!
Your next stop on the tour is....

Happy Stamping!

November Beautiful World Tour

Hello Beautiful World!  We have a fantastic Beautiful World Tour for you this month that truly showcases some worldly Flourishes glamor!  Betty Wright challenged  the Beautiful World Team to the Beautiful World of Sparkle this month.  Sit back and enjoy each stop on your Beautiful World Tour to see how each designer chose  to add some sparkle to their Flourishes stamped creations.

One lucky winner is chosen from the comments each month to WIN their choice of Flourishes stamp set.  All you need to do is follow the hop and leave comments along the way.  You do not need to comment on every stop, however, the more you comment on, the bigger your chance of winning!

If you have arrived from Dina's Blog, then you are in the right place.  If this is your first stop on the hop, please head on back to the Flourishes Blog to start from the beginning.

Well, here is what I came up with:
The stunning silhouette image is from the Flourishes stamp set, A Season of Celebrations and the sentiment is from the All That Glitters stamp set.
I stamped the main image using Versafine in Onyx Black and then using heat and stick powder as an adhesive, I covered the image in clear glitter.  I hope you can see it in the photo but, of course, it looks much better in real life.  I then added some Christmas themed patterned paper, some stitching using my Janome Sew Mini, and some buttons and a trinket pin for embellishments.  Finally, I adorned the main image and sentiment with tiny 2mm rhinestones in red and green for some extra sparkle.

Well, I hope you enjoyed your stop here in Vancouver, Canada.
Now off to visit...
Happy Stamping!

This month the hostess is Anne-Elise and we've been challenged to Remember our Friends! Where would we be without our friends? We laugh together and share our dreams, and when things are hard, we want to be there for them or be a shoulder to cry on when they grieve. Today we remember those friends with Sympathy, Missing You, Thinking of You or even Thank-you cards and perhaps we'll even have a special story to tell you about those friends that have inspired us along the way.

If you've jetted in from the Flourishes Blog, then you have arrived at the right destination! If you haven't, perhaps you'd like to start your journey back in Florida at the Flourishes Blog so you don't miss all the beautiful inspiration along the way!

I decided to make a thank you card to show a friend that their kind gesture will not go forgotten.  As summer is coming to an end, I wanted to feature a favourite summer treat by using the Flourishes Wild For Watermelon set.  I just LOVE the fabulous images and the adorable and punny sentiments!

The image was coloured with Copics from the following Copic Collections from Flourishes:

I used fellow teamie, Iwona Palamountain's, Sketchbook Saturday Sketch #14 as inspiration:

August Beautiful World Tour

Hello Everyone and welcome to the first Flourishes Beautiful World Tour!!! Those of you who have been following Flourishes for a while will know that the first Monday of the month used to be the Bring Back Beautiful Challenge. As we celebrate Flourishes' 5th Birthday, there have been some changes and one of those is our team! No longer are we a challenge team, instead we FOUR new members to the team - Sasha, Dina, Anne-Elise and Meredith - (WELCOME girls, we are excited to have you join us!!) and each month, travel the world with us and be inspired by talented girls from all parts of the globe!!! We are now represented by Australia, United States, Canada, Finland, England and Germany and each month one of the girls will be hosting the hop on the Flourishes blog, sharing a little about their creation and maybe even a little about their corner of the world!

So.....what does this mean for YOU?? Instead of being challenged to create and play along, all we ask is you do a little globetrotting and stamp our passports (leave us a comment) and you could WIN A FREE FLOURISHES STAMP SET!!!! Yes, you heard right, leave a comment and have the chance to win!! The catch is, you don't know which country is going to be this week's vacation spot (chosen blog) so leave a comment on each one by AUGUST 31st for your chance to win!!

If you've jetted in from Australia from Iwona's blog then you have arrived at the right destination. If you haven't, perhaps you'd like to start your journey back in Florida at the Flourishes Blog so you don't miss any of the inspiration along the way!!

This month, the hostess is Kathy in Australia and she asked that we create something inspired by a song!

Maybe it had something to do with the live reggae music I could hear from the park across the street from my place, but, I was inspired by the Bob Marley song, Three Little Birds (every little thing is gonna be alright).  It definitely isn't a Canadian song but, with the sun shining here in the Vancouver, Canada area, I was reminded of the carefree summers I had as a child.  Summer seemed endless back then, and I don't even know how many days we spent down at the lake, fishing off the wharf.

Here is what I created:
I used the Sweet Days of Summer stamp set by Flourishes stamping it in dark grey ink.  This set is FULL of beautiful silhouette images and  I just love this peaceful image of a little boy fishing at the lake.  The patterned papers are from the MME Lost & Found Two - Breeze 6x6 Paper Pad.  I stitched the two pieces together using my Janome Sew Mini.  The main image was cut out using Spellbinders Classic Ovals and the mat was cut out using Spellbinders Labels 18.  The die-cuts were sponged with Tim Holtz Distress ink in Tumbled Glass.  It was a bit too bright, so, I sponged over-top of that with Tim Holtz Distress ink in Old Paper which muted the colour a bit.  Finally, I embellished with a couple of vintage buttons and some twine.

Well, I hope you enjoyed your last stop at Beautiful British Columbia, Canada....now, it's time for you to head on back to the Flourishes Blog.

Happy Travels!
