BBB24 - The Beauty of Winged Things

Hello everyone!

Well, it's been a while since I last posted and I'm glad to be back!

It's time for another Bring Back Beautiful Challenge over at Flourishes...this month, the theme is...

The Beauty of Winged Things! Birds, butterflies, even lady bugs -- let your

creativity flow on this challenge aimed at honouring those creatures with wings on your card or creation! 

Link up your Bring Back Beautiful Challenge creations on the Flourishes Blog to enter.  If you upload to SCS, please use the keyword BBB24.  You have until July 31st to enter!  As we unveil our challenge for next month, we'll share our True Beauties – those card makers who wowed us with this challenge!  Winners will be featured on the Flourishes Blog and will receive a True Beauty blog button to display proudly on their blog.  A big welcome to Geri who won last month's Flourishes challenge and joins us this month on the BBB Challenge team!

Anyway, here is what I came up with:

I used Flourishes' Sweet Days of Summer stamp set and stamped the main image using yellow ink.  The butterflies are a separate stamp from the same set.  I cut out the main image using Spellbinders Floral Ovals and sponged using Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Pumice Stone.  I added some pearls to the die-cut and mounted it  over some beautiful patterned papers which had been embellished with a seam binding bow, a pearl, and a gorgeous Crystal Trinket Pin.  The sentiment, which is also from Sweet Days of Summer, was stamped in dark grey ink.

BBB21 - The Beauty of Friendship

Hello again!  I'm back again with my very first Bring Back Beautiful Challenge!  


Before we get on with the challenge details, I just wanted to say it one more time, I am seriously OVER THE MOON to be joining the STELLAR group of ladies over at Flourishes.  As if being asked to join the BBB DT wasn't flattering enough, when was told who would be joining with me, I just about DIED...I am HONOURED to be joining along with the SUPER talented Linda Duke and Claudia Rosa.

Anyway, without further ado, let's get onto the challenge!

For this month’s Bring Back Beautiful challenge, we’d like to honor those in our lives that bless us with their friendship with THE BEAUTY OF FRIENDSHIP. The challenge is just that simple – make a card or creation with a friend in mind!  For those of you uploading your cards to SCS, please use the keyword: BBB21.

Here is what I came up with:

Do you have any friends who you don't see often but, even after years, you pick up right where you left off?  I know I have at least a few dear friends like that...which is probably why I LOVE this sentiment SO much!

I used the STUNNING Cherry Blossoms stamp set from Flourishes, inking it up with Memento in Rich Cocoa.  I coloured it with Copic Markers (R00, R02, YG0000, YG00, E43, E44) just giving it a light wash of colour.  I wanted to keep it soft.  The sentiment is from Flourishes' Cherries and Peaches stamp set.  I layered the main panel over some pretty patterned papers in one of my favourite colour combinations and added some pearls, lace, rhinestone clusters, and a seam binding bow.

A Dream Come True! (BIG news)

Hey Everyone and Happy Sunday!

Well, I'm finally allowed to share some BIG news that I've been just DYING to share with you all!

I am BEYOND thrilled to announce that I am joining the Bring Back Beautiful Challenge Team over at Flourishes!

As many of you know, they are my FAVOURITE stamp company and this is a DREAM come true for me!

If you are not familiar with Flourishes stamps, then head on over to the Flourishes store to see their BEAUTIFUL, TIMELESS designs...you will certainly be in for a TREAT!

I am not the only NEW face at Flourishes...there are a lot of changes going on so, why don't you head on over to the Flourishes Blog to welcome all of the new girls and congratulate some of the other girls who are  moving up in the Flourishes family!
